Study from Facebook Review

about

Micah Beaumont

Study from Facebook is a tool that can get you rewards for sharing your data with the company. It collects data on apps you use, screen time, and so on. Download Study from Facebook and get your cryptocurrency for your contribution!

Interface 0/5

All you need to know about this app is that it has no interface at all. It’s an unusual thing for Android, because the icon will still show up in the app list, but if you run it, nothing will happen.

As you register, you need to be sure you have received an invitation. If yes, it’s enough to activate the app with the code you received, and it will run smoothly. Before that, it will just prompt you to finish the registration.

Content and features 5/5

The app is made to collect the important data from your phone, if you agree. It can access the apps you launch, their features, and modes, the time you spend with these apps, the type of connection you use, and so on. It does its job in the background, completely unnoticed (by you, but not by Facebook). At the end of the month, you’ll get your reward for letting it in.

Usability 5/5

At least, the app is advertised as one that respects your privacy. It is supposed to run in the background and collect data on apps you use. It includes names and permissions of the apps, modes you use them in, screen time, and other information that may be useful for commercial profiling.

Facebook promises the app won’t touch your sensitive data. Say, when you open a box to type in a message, Study will know you are writing, but it won’t access what exactly you type. The same is with your phone calls, your messaging in all non-Facebook apps (as if Messenger, WhatsApp, and Instagram aren’t enough), or your expenses.
It won’t necessarily take a Libra wallet app to get your rewards. It will come to your Facebook account, and you can use your Libras wherever you’d like. The sum of the reward will probably be about $20/month, as long as the study continues.

Compatibility 2/5

The app is only available for Android; sorry, iPhone users, you are considered wealthy enough to buy your Libras independently. You need at least Android 5.0 to enjoy your rewards from Facebook, so the app has all the permissions required. But more important is the fact that you need to get your invitation to participate; if not, your device, whatever it is, will be shown as incompatible with the app.

The Bottom Line

If you don’t mind sharing some of your personal details to Facebook (or think Facebook already knows it all), you may consider it useful. Of course, it won’t make you rich at once, even considering today’s crypto boom starting again. But it will let you know how Libra works, without extra investments. Of course, if you don’t trust Facebook, don’t let it Study you. But we don’t think Facebook overevils Google.
