Doki Doki Literature Club is an ingenious combination of a romance visual novel and a horror game. It features various choices that will change the course of the game significantly. It even includes a 'good' ending, where players receive a heartfelt letter from the game's creator, Dan Salvato. Reaching this ending is a bit challenging and requires specific steps and actions from the player. Let's dive into how to achieve this coveted ending.
To begin with, reset your game back to the very start. This ensures a fresh start, essential for achieving the good ending. Your aim is to unlock nine CGs or cutscenes in the first act and at least two CGs in the third act. This may seem like a hefty task, but through replaying and save-scumming, it's perfectly achievable. Begin by choosing Sayori's route before moving on to Yuri's and Natsuki's. The goal is to unlock three cutscenes from each of these characters by the end of the first act.
For Sayori's route, start by writing the perfect poems for her. There will be three opportunities to do this in Act 1. Always choose Sayori first during the poem sharing activity and intervene in the Yuri and Natsuki fight by choosing 'Help me, Sayori!!'. When given the choice of who to walk home with, always choose Sayori. Lastly, when she confesses her feelings, respond with 'I love you'. You are now done with Sayori's route.
Next, focus on Yuri's route. Similar to Sayori's route, write three specific poems for her. Always choose her first during the poem sharing section. In her fight with Natsuki, back her up by selecting 'Yuri'. Choose to walk home with Yuri and assist Yuri over the weekend. Lastly, when Sayori expresses her feelings, respond with 'You'll always be my dearest friend'.
The same process largely applies to Natsuki's route. Write three poems that will appeal to her, always choose her during the poem sharing activity and in her fight with Yuri. Choose to walk home with Natsuki and assist her over the weekend. Again, respond to Sayori's feelings with 'You'll always be my dearest friend'.
If you've managed to unlock all nine CGs across these routes, you can continue on to ACT 2 without any concerns.
In the third act, accept Monika's feelings by selecting 'Yes'. Write a perfect poem for her, read her poem, and then delete her. This will unlock her final CG. Then, conclude the game. Restart with a New Game without Monika. Listen to Monika's song, let the credits roll, and you'll receive a special letter from Dan Salvato himself.
With these directions, you should have no trouble achieving the good ending of Doki Doki Literature Club. It's a demanding but rewarding journey to take, which only enhances the game's unique charm.
