Game development studio Bloober Team has addressed its followers with a message calling for continued patience regarding its much-anticipated Silent Hill 2 remake. On their official account on a platform formerly known as Twitter, the team reassured gamers worldwide that production of the classic horror title remake is moving forward without a hitch.
The team at Bloober has expressed their pride in contributing to the future of the Silent Hill series, a project helmed by gaming giant Konami. They publicly stated that cooperation with Konami is in full swing, aiming to meet a standard of excellence that will resonate with fans of the series.
While they recognize the growing anticipation and the loyal fandom's desire for updates, they've gently requested further patience. Bloober Team promises that when the time is right and Konami opts to divulge more details, the news will justify the wait. They concluded their message by thanking supporters for their patience and understanding.
Speculation abounds as to why the Bloober Team felt compelled to issue this proclamation, considering it’s been over a year since the game's initial announcement without substantial updates. Moreover, the Silent Hill fanbase may be experiencing a heightened sense of expectation following less-than-stellar reactions to Silent Hill: Ascension, an interactive streaming venture that has stumbled due to critique over its monetization strategies and a somewhat perplexing narrative.
Adding to the situation, Piotr Babieno, the CEO of Bloober Team, had mentioned earlier in March that the development of the Silent Hill 2 remake was nearing completion. He clarified that while the technical aspects were largely in place, final completion was still on the horizon. The topic of timing and promotional strategies, he pointed out, was chiefly under Konami’s control.
